Hello, I’m Sabitra, and I founded Wellness Horizon to offer warm, inclusive, and empowering counselling services. My goal is to create a safe and confidential space where individuals can heal, grow, and embrace change.
I approach therapy with compassion and a collaborative spirit. My practice is grounded in strength-based and holistic values, using techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and client-centred methods tailored to each person’s unique needs.
“Proudly received an award for extraordinary contributions to the School of Social Work at the University of Windsor, in my role as Student Representative advocating for service, equity, and inclusion.”
My Background
On June 3, 2024, I proudly earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Windsor — a milestone that reflects my deep commitment to mental health and social justice. This academic foundation, paired with hands-on experience, allows me to provide thoughtful, effective support to individuals and families.
I also hold an Early Childhood Education diploma, which enriches my ability to guide families in:
- Understanding child development milestones
- Navigating Ontario’s education system
- Using developmental tools and strategies
Why I Do This Work
My path has not been without hardship. I’ve experienced personal loss, including the passing of loved ones due to COVID-19 and cancer. These profound experiences shaped my understanding of grief, resilience, and the importance of meaningful support.
They also inspired me to hold space for others — to walk beside them through sorrow, healing, and transformation.
My Focus Areas
I offer support in the following areas:
- Grief and Loss
Compassionate care for individuals processing loss and seeking a way forward. - Immigrant and Refugee Support
Helping newcomers navigate systems, build resilience, and adjust to new environments. - Family and Community Support
Working with families and communities to strengthen relationships and well-being. - Mental Health and Well-being
Promoting holistic care through workshops, counselling, and community connection.
My Journey in Leadership & Advocacy
I believe deeply in social justice, inspired by voices like Senator Dr. Wanda Thomas Bernard. As the Student Representative at the University of Windsor, I was honored with a certificate for my contributions to the School of Social Work.
Earlier in my journey, I completed a social entrepreneurship and leadership training (2013–2014) at the Daniel Centre in Toronto. Through this, I led civic engagement workshops in St. James Town, addressing social isolation and income challenges in collaboration with local organizations.

Community Work
As a Community Health Ambassador at Women’s Health in Women’s Hands, I promoted holistic wellness through workshops and community initiatives. This work helped lay the foundation for the kind of inclusive, accessible counselling I now provide.

A Heartfelt Commitment
I’m grateful to my family, elders, professors, and community members for their unwavering support. I carry their wisdom and encouragement with me in every client interaction.
Whether you’re seeking guidance through grief, adjusting to a new country, or simply needing someone to walk with you, I am here.
As a Nepali woman of colour, I bring cultural understanding and deep empathy to my work. My aim is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported on your journey toward healing.
